Make sure you use the right spec though, many cars use a gl4 spec oil but a lot of multipurpose gear oils are gl5 which can be too slippery for the syncros to work properly. And as ever when changing gear oiul make sure youYou can find these recommendations in your vehicle’s owner’s manual or service manual. Typically, manufacturers suggest changing the gearbox oil every 80,000 to 100,000 kilometers (50,000 to 60,000 miles) for manual gearboxes and every 60,000 to 80,000 kilometers (40,000 to 50,000 miles) for automatic gearboxes.
